Scout Leader Fast Start Training
 When new Cub Scout, Boy Scout or Venturing leaders are selected in Scouting, it is essential that they receive immediate information that will help them get started. Fast Start training helps new leaders to understand what is expected and to establish effective meeting patterns so that the youth in their programs and their families can enjoy a quality program from the start.

Fast Start is the first step in the continuum of training for all Scout leaders. Its objective is to provide all the information and resources for new leaders to conduct their first meeting, along with guidance for the meetings that follow. Specific training sessions for each leadership role are included. Fast Start is available in two formats, online and video. The videotape can be borrowed or purchased through the Strong Scout Shop at the council office.

The on-line Cub Scout, Boy Scout Leader and Venture Leader Fast Start Training is an interactive training experience that provides you to with the training appropriate to your Scouting position.

Cub Scout Leader
 Cub Scout Leader leaders - Learn more about the Cub Scout program and get the information needed to confidently run your first meeting. It should take you only 15 to 20 minutes to complete this training.

Boy Scout Leader
This online Fast Start training is a quickorientation to help you get ready for your first Boy Scout meeting.

The training is divided into five sections:
The Troop Meeting
The Troop Committee
The Outdoor Program
Basic Concepts of Scouting
The Scout Uniform

Venturing Leader
The training covers the Venturing Methods,getting your crew up and running, leadership and organization, activities, advancement, the Venturing Uniform, and more!


Venturing Crew Orientation
The orientation covers specific leadership skills in program planning, money-earning, and running effective committees. This presentation should be a first step in training effective crew leaderships also available.

eLearning Center
The eLearning courses can help adult leaders deliver quality Scouting experiences to youth. A log-in is required, however anyone may create a user account and view the courses. Registered members of the BSA may provide their member numbers (as part of the user profile) to receive credit:
